Defined Protection for Hazardous Zones

Identifying your site classification is critical to safety. We provide engineered solutions tailored to the specific atmospheric risks of your operation.

ZONE 1 High Risk

Areas where an explosive atmosphere is likely to occur in normal operation occasionally (e.g., near filling points or vents).

  • Ex d (Flameproof) Enclosures
  • Ex ia (Intrinsically Safe) Sensors
  • Secondary Containment Monitoring
  • Mandatory Vapor Recovery

ZONE 2 Moderate Risk

Areas where an explosive atmosphere is not likely to occur in normal operation, but if it does, it will persist for a short period only.

  • Ex n (Non-sparking) Equipment
  • Increased Safety (Ex e) Terminals
  • Static-Conductive Grounding
  • Standard Weatherproof Housing

Flameproof Anatomy

Every component is selected to eliminate ignition sources in combustible atmospheres.

Ex d Explosion-Proof Motors EX d IIB T4

Heavy-duty flameproof enclosures house all pumping motors, ensuring internal sparks or explosions cannot trigger the external atmosphere.

Intrinsically Safe Electronics Ex ia/ib

Electronic circuits operate at energy levels so low that sparks are physically incapable of igniting the surrounding fuel vapor.

Gas-Tight Junction Boxes IP67 Rated

All wiring connections are sealed within secondary cast-iron enclosures with threaded entries to prevent gas ingress.

Anti-Static Infrastructure Static-Free

Conductive fuel hoses, integrated grounding reels, and spark-resistant dispensing nozzles eliminate electrostatic discharge risks.

Critical Engineering FAQ

What is the difference between "Flameproof" and "Intrinsically Safe"?
Flameproof (Ex d) focuses on containing an internal explosion within a heavy enclosure so it cannot ignite the external atmosphere. Intrinsically Safe (Ex ia/ib) limits the electrical energy itself to levels that are physically incapable of causing a spark or thermal ignition. Our stations use a combination of both for maximum redundancy.
Does the station require specialized grounding?
Yes. In hazardous zones, static electricity is a major threat. Our units feature dual-redundant grounding systems with continuous resistance monitoring. We provide a complete Earthing & Bonding schematic for your site electrical engineer.
How is maintenance handled for explosion-proof components?
Maintaining the "Ex" integrity is vital. Our stations are designed with externally accessible junction boxes and modular pump units to minimize the need to open flameproof enclosures on-site. We also provide a "Gap & Seal" checklist for annual safety audits.
Is the fire suppression system automatic or manual?
As standard, we integrate an Automatic Thermal-Triggered system. In the event of a temperature spike, the dry powder or foam concentrate is discharged immediately without requiring human intervention, while simultaneously triggering the Emergency Shut-Off (ESD).
