Why choose composite piping over traditional seamless steel pipes?
While steel has been the standard, double-walled composite piping offers 100% corrosion resistance, eliminating the primary cause of underground leaks. Furthermore, its flexibility significantly reduces the number of joints required, and electro-fusion welding creates a homogenous system that is far more reliable over a 30-year lifespan.
How does the secondary containment system help with environmental compliance?
Our systems feature continuous interstitial spaces between the primary and secondary walls. This allows for real-time leak detection monitoring. In the event of a primary pipe breach, the fuel is contained within the secondary pipe and captured in the sumps, preventing any soil or groundwater contamination, satisfying EPA and local regulatory requirements.
What is the maintenance requirement for HDPE Manhole Wells and Sumps?
High-Density Polyethylene (HDPE) is virtually maintenance-free. Unlike concrete or metal sumps, it does not crack due to ground movement or rust. Regular inspections only need to ensure that the Entry Boots remain tight and that the sump interiors stay dry, which is facilitated by our watertight lid designs.
Are these piping systems compatible with Bio-fuels and Ethanol blends?
Yes. Our composite pipes feature an advanced EVOH internal barrier layer specifically engineered to be chemically inert. They are fully compatible with Gasoline, Diesel, AdBlue, and high-ethanol blends like E85 or Methanol, without the risk of polymer degradation or permeation.
